JackSons', or Sons of Jack, was born as a tribute to the late father of Andy and Dave Dalton. Jack Dalton was co-owner of Thurmers Tavern when it opened in 1954. Known for their steaks and being St. louis' original "sports bar", Thurmers became a south St. Louis landmark. Jack left the restaurant business to devote more time to his wife Marilyn and his 3 sons but the passion for the industry was passed on.

Inspired by Thurmer's legacy, the Dalton Brothers opened JackSons' in 2003.Raised in South City, and running a business in Dogtown, their goal was to create "FOOD, DRINK, MUSIC and ATMOSPHERE" that crosses many cultures in diverse St. Louis. Come in shorts or a suit, just come to have fun.

Described by one St. Louis restaurant review as a 1940's steakhouse, JackSons' certainly leads with its steaks but is not at all limited to them. Lunch or dinner, the steak sandwich is the signature item. Filet mignon on garlic cheese bread...enough said. At night, the steaks excel, even before you see the modest prices. The menu extends to various entrees of chicken, seafood or pasta. Again inspired by Thurmer's, every entrée comes with a wedge salad, potato and vegetable. These sides dishes are distinctively designed to be memorable, not an afterthought.

There is a dynamic growth of spirit and pride swelling within the city limits of St. Louis. JackSons' resides in a building that was built in 1902. Upon entering, the character of a 100 year old building is obvious. Red brick walls and archways, original tin ceilings, a 55 foot bar and old church pews acting as booths often strike similarities to locales in New Orleans, Chicago or even our towns Soulard.

JackSons' embraces the rich music heritage of St. Louis by becoming a music club during the later hours. From the rhythmic soul of St. Louis's most popular R&B band The Rhythm Rockers, to the New Orleans funk and zydeco of Gumbohead, JackSons' bounces at least 4 nights a week.

JackSons' House of Blues-Dogtown style invites you to "come for the food and stay for the music".
